Overview

Mark now runs the Chartered Management Accountancy practice at Hatton & Berkeley. Mark has worked across many business sectors and has experience of managing finance functions of all sizes.

Mark started his career in industry working for Amstrad plc, where he learnt all aspects of the finance function under the supervision of Alan Sugar. It was at Amstrad that Mark qualified as a Chartered Management Accountant in 1997.

He spent three years working for Universal Film International as Financial Controller. A key achievement in this role was to introduce a structured change program to improve efficiencies on distribution and marketing budgets, still in use today.

In 2002, Mark became Senior Finance Manager for the BBC working in their property division controlling an investment budget of £350m. He successfully re-negotiated key service level agreements increasing net revenues by £2m per year.

In 2014, Mark joined Hatton & Berkeley to head up the companies consultancy, supporting owner / manager businesses. He is the Financial Controller and provides clients with interim Finance Director positions where required.

Mark has helped turn Hatton & Berkeley into more than just a general accountancy practice which now has over 1000 actively trading clients from all shapes and sizes, ranging from a local tradesman to companies that turnover more than £10m per year.
